What to do in Miami if you don't love the beach and are tired of the mall?

I live in Miami (and hate it) and am very bored. I want to do something different on the weekend, that doesn't involve the tourist areas of the city.

Something outdoors would be nice if possible, or just something interesting and not consumerism-driven.

I've been here for 3 years and been to Vizcaya, Fairchild gardens, and I live in the Design District, so I've already seen that.

What else is there to do? Please help! My butt is getting numb from sitting on this sofa!

A different idea: go to Coral Gables. It's surrounded by Miami, but it's not at all like Miami, even down to the street signs. Start near Ponce de Leon and the Miracle Mile (SW 22nd St. - Coral Way). Lots of nice places to eat. Check out the famous Biltmore Hotel at 1200 Anastasia. Drive along Riviera south from Bird Road (SW 40th St.). Finally, even though it's not in the Gables, you should check out the Cuban restaurant/bakery Versailles in Little Havana (3555 SW 8th St.).

Reply:Haha. I go to the beach and mall when Im bored too! Im starting to get sick of the beach. Well do u go to any clubs or anything, where u get in free or at a discounted price before a certain time?? I dont know! Go to the aquarium. Or go to some festivals or outdoor latin concerts i know miami has them all the time. Go to everglases and there is a seminole reservation down there that u can go to.. i think. Or go to ft lauderdale. Do u have any friends that u can hang with and not be bored?
Reply:Go to Everglades National Park
Reply:get on one of those fan boats and search the swamp areas. They are beautiful and only accessible this way.
