Good websites for design, specifications and history on designer chairs?
I am having a heck of time finding detailed specifications for modern chairs, aside from dimensions, weight, etc. I have that stuff. Something like how long is the curve, or what kind of screws are used, or what type of gliders on the feet. I need to find technical details for a bunch of "modern" and "retro" chairs from the industrial period, 40s, 50s, 60s...I'm sick of getting all DWR, hive, and knoll results - helpful - but not enough..have some design forums and sites but still can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe artists plans for chairs or something.. Most of these designers are architects so I'm going to put this under drawing..and maybe later sculpture..and maybe later home and garden...any info would be great thanks!

Hi!
Have you look through the Library of Congress,
the U.S. Patent Office, furniture/design museums?
UMass-Dartmouth (to name one) offers an MFA in
furniture design and probably have great resources.
Furniture/industrial design firms have extensive
libraries.. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you.
I would contact any and every possible source.
Hope this helps!
