Plants for a rock garden?

I live in the west of scotland and would welcome any ideas and/or websites for design.

Plants for a rock garden?
lavendar, heather, grasses ect........ some herbs will be good for a rock garden...
Reply:Hens and chicks! They are very hardy and attractive..
Reply:Go to the alpine section of your garden centre and you will see all sorts of plants that will grow well there for example thrift and sedums.
Reply:Oh my goodness, there are LOADS of plants you can get for a rock garden!!

Its not really the time of year at the moment as a lot are finishing flowering, but go to your local nursery, market or garden centre and head for the alpine section. Dont be ripped off though. For a small alpine you should only pay about £1.00. I recently did my front garden with alpines and this year they have come up a treat.

Choose plants like saxifraga, aubrieta, phlox %26amp; frigillanas Herbs and lavender also do really well. There are loads, loads more to choose from i just cant remember all the names!! Have a look on internet to get some ideas.

Good Luck!!
Reply:you could try better homes and garden (bhg.com) i found a nice plan for a front bed. you might have to change some of the plants to things more native in your area.
Reply:Moss!
Reply:ya man get some moss, some ferns and some kind of forest flowers...that s wht i would go for
Reply:what is your climate like?
