If physics is an evil science, doesn't that make garden hoses evil?

Every machine and appliance was designed because of

physics or another pure science. Yes there are

evil things, such as nail guns, smoke bombs,

bottle rockets, cathode ray tubes, deadly blue

ice and other implements of destruction.

But there are good things too, like electric can

openers, water heaters, hot air dispensers,

coffee grinders, refrigerator magnets,

whirligigs, bamboo detectors, red ink pens

the pickup, that made electric guitars a reality......

I am fortunate because I don't have to live in a

social setting where this science versus religion war is

going on. There is enough heartache in the world without it,

so if you read any of this but "fail to see the humor", sorry.

Levity is an option only if you're not being taught how to

believe. Survival skills are the important beliefs in life.

What you think and how you believe should be up to you,

if you live an ethical life.

.

If physics is an evil science, doesn't that make garden hoses evil?
You have a pretty good point!
Reply:wtf? *scratches head*
Reply:I see the humor, of course I do...I think science and religion do not have to oppose one another. I believe we will see the melding of the two in my daughter's lifetime. At least I hope she sees it.
Reply:Sience isn't evil. It's just that ignorant religious officials don't like the iea that they may get proven wrong.

Can you help?????

i'm a landscaper and i have this customer who wants me to design her garden for $5.000

and i simply said if you want a garden that is going to look like it hasn't been touched............

my estimate for her is $10.000 as she is on acerage (2.5) that is the cheapest i can do for her do you think it is expensive or impossible..........

Can you help?????
I would suggest that she gets the basics done well. Perhaps you can do the garden in front of the house and just around the back close to the house, and when she has the money gets you to come back and add additional beds etc.

You could also give her an idea of what things cost eg turf to cover her block. It may sound a lot of money to her but when broken down to paving, turf and shrubs and trees she may see that money doesn't go very far on a hectare of ground.

If you cant do a good job for the money you may be best to leave it alone rather than ruin your reputation.
Reply:I don't know all of the particulars, but a price is a price. You are in the business to make money, and help people out along the way. Don't lose your shirt trying to sell a job or please a customer.
Reply:Wow. My first impression was that you must be in CA as everything is expensive out there. We are renovating our new house here in SC and I know if my husband heard that figure he would laugh his @ss off! It's not like every bit of that acreage will be covered with roses and ponds.

:\
Reply:If she wants a design for 5000 then give her one for 5000.

If you wanted a car for 5000 you wouldnt want them to show you a 10000 one. So go back to your drawing table. Design a plan that you could do for 5000 and show it to her. If it has to be small then so be it. Just make as nice of one as you can within the budget she stated. Dont include the entire acreage. Maybe just around her house. m
Reply:As I don't know where you are located, I would have no clue. Only you know what you can do this job for. Stick to your guns about this. You gave the customer a price, they either accept it or they don't. I hope this helps.
Reply:What services is she expecting for that 5.000 amount?

irrigation? pond? flower beds? lawn? rain water collectors? etc.

Was God's original plan just to create Adam and Eve was a "patch" to a glitch in the design?

In Genesis 2 (KJV) it seems like God thought of making Eve after he thought of making Adam - like an afterthought.

15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help mate for him.

Was God's original plan just to create Adam and Eve was a "patch" to a glitch in the design?
God's been winging it from day one. He wasn't even sure the light was going to be good until he looked upon it.
Reply:good questions....

keep in mind that we are created in the image of God. A highly debated statement.

Are we given insight to the thought process (if you can say that) of God before things unfolded.

We had the freedom to choose, and we were created to commune openly with God, but we were tempted to disobey Him, thus acquiring our sinful nature, disease, corruption, and death.

Take for example an individual who " decides" that he/she wants to remain Single. No amount of urging on your or my part as to " why dont you get someone" is going to change their Minds. However years later they decide they want a Partner. None of us can at that time say " You were foolish" and should have started earlier. Its their call.

Are there and teachers out there who have ideas for items to use in a prop box for the following Themes?

Themes (Birthdays, Beach, Picnic, Camping, Gardening and Bugs) Need ideas for dramatic play, music, storytime, math, music, finger play and poems. I am trying to design lesson plans. I do a home daycare and my time is really limited. Also If I could recruit a few good people who would like to correspond via email with me on a regular basis about lesson plans I would be more than willing to pay for your services. I can be emailed at heavenly28001@yahoo.com . Oh yeah this is for children preschool age

This is a great website for little ones (and ideas for us "big ones") ... www.enchantedlearning.com

I go here for all sorts of ideas for holidays and rainy day projects.

I send my children to school for social purposes only, then teach them myself when they get home. Sorry, but I've lost all faith in the school system of Louisiana and feel that they learn nothing at school.

I'd love to help out if I can, and share ideas , but I don't expect payment in return. Seeing children use their imaginations, laughing and learning, is payment enough :)

Ok, just a couple of ideas...I could come up with a lot more but I just noticed the time...haha!

I would love to share ideas with you on those prop boxes...I think it's a fantastic idea and I am chalk full of activity ideas and I have tons of resource books at home that help me come up with more!!!

Did God or Satan, or both together, design the modern tiger?

Fundamentalist Christians believe that carnivorous animals like the tiger used to be docile vegetarians in the Garden of Eden. Then, after the Fall of Man, the Food Chain came about, and tigers became hunters with meat-eating teeth, with bodies adapted for stalking and hunting, eyes that could see in the night etc. But that would mean the pre-Lapsarian tiger was a very different animal to the modern one. So, when we admire tigers today, are we admiring the work of God, or the work brought about by sin (and therefore Satan). Isn’t that what Blake was driving at when he wrote of the tiger in a famous poem: “Did He who made the lamb, make thee? And, as all of Nature is fallen in this way, don’t we really praise Satan whenever we admire it? Or are Satan and God just opposite sides of a coin, like many dualists and Gnostics believe?

Did God or Satan, or both together, design the modern tiger?
The modern tiger was designed by the needs of the tiger in the world in which they lived. Evolution caused them to be the way they are today.
Reply:Lucifer was once god's favorite angel...perhaps it was a collaberation...
Reply:the tiger, and the shark, bush...etc
Reply:I think most would consider me a fundamentalist Christian. In the future, please don't tell others what I believe unless you either know for sure or have consulted me first. You are way off base, sir. God created carnivorous animals to eat other animals. It is not a result of the fall of man. (The pointy teeth are a dead giveaway!)
Reply:How about the process of Evolution.
Reply:God creates and the devil can only influence.
Reply:God Created all living things not Satan.

Looking for web sites w/ pictures of how ppl have hidden hot tub/spa in and amongst flowers not just decking

I have a 16 x 25 foot side yard w/privacy fencing that I want to transform into a lush garden retreat. As part of the design I want to add our hot tub. Rather then deck it in like most people I want it surrounded with perennials and annuals. I want to add a narrow winding wooden walk way that leads through the side yard but then off to the tub. I am looking for a site that shows other home owners hiding there tub in a garden setting and not just decking it in. If you have done this or Know some one who has and has posted pictures I would be very interested in seeing them to get ideas. thanks in advance

Help me design a tattoo?

I have no skills when it comes to drawing and I need help.

If you are willing could you draw, or photoshop what I'm describing and host it and answer with a link please?

Or if you know of a good link.

Im gonna want a cross and a serpent on my left upper arm.

I want the cross to be clearly wooden.

The serpent to be showing its fangs, and a coloration that makes you think about Satan (like in the Garden of Eden), I don't have a preference as to what kind of snake it is.

The cross should be stomping, stabbing, piercing,or otherwise killing the serpent.

The symboling is very simple, the Cross (to me) represents God and good, the Serpent (to me again) represents Satan and evil, and the Cross is destroying the Serpent.

Here is a link to a tattoo that is kinda close to what i'm looking for:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/qxzlool/672...

Feel free to take artistic license, have fun, make it interesting, add other things to it if you think it looks good.

Thanks for the help!

Help me design a tattoo?
You sound like you already know what your image will be once you see it. Your ideas are very specific. So, you should start looking at artist portfolios to find a artist style you like.

You have plenty of information and details that you can go to a solid artist and have them design your tattoo. They don't just trace and ink, they also design tattoos based on the images and information you give them.

Sure, you might end up paying more for it, but this can get the artist excited to design and ink you tattoo. An inspired artist will certainly give you an inspired tattoo you'll be proud of for the rest of your life.

Good luck!
Reply:most tattoo places have an artist there that can design what you want and they usually don't charge you anything

How can I design the best landscape for south florida backyard?

I have about 1/4 acre of yard at my south florida home. We have chain-link fences all around, with the back of our property on a canal. I would love to have a place for the kids to play, a vegetable garden and a butterfly garden. And I would like to limit the amount of grass - but there is sooo much to do. Where should I start? I don't have the money to hire someone and want to do it in stages, but work out the overall plan before I start anything.

Anyone have any ideas on how to start? Should I just start working on 5'x5' sections? I am at a loss and the season is already well on it's way. Thanks

How can I design the best landscape for south florida backyard?
it may be worth some money to hire a landscape architect. if you are really against that, make a list of things you want in the space and things you would like to see happen, or not happen in the space. this is called a program. next, spend lots of time in the space and figure out the best spaces for views, spaces that need shade, etc. next draw a to scale boundary of your yard and start filling in the space with the program elements, keeping in mind the views, slopes, sun exposure, etc. it sounds like you want to go the sustainable route, so go to your local nursery (NOT home depot, something local where the people know what they are selling) and ask to see a selection of native plants. butterflies like tiny little flowers, so include lantana or something like that that grows in florida. figure out places in your yard to place the plants depending on shade, sun, wind exposure, etc... it's a complex task. you may want to do it in stages so that you can figure out what is working on a small scale rather than doing the whole yard and then realizing that you made a mistake. like i said before, it's a really good investment to hire a professional...it will increase your home value and insure that the space is designed right. many landscape designers offer consulting by the hour for really reasonable fees. you won't get any drawings out of it, but you'll get some great insight, and the professional will be able to pinpoint any major problems with your site if there are any. good luck!

Why are certain activities connected with being gay?

Please do not bombared this questions with a bunch of PC comments about how offended you are.

I know this question is not PC and so what, I want some thoughts, so please save your sermons.

Anyway,

Why do such activities as beauty salons, broadway/musicals, dancing/ ballet, interrior designing, fashion design, and gardening have such a high percentage of gay men?

And why do sports like basketball, golf, softball, and other things like military, and bikers have a high percentage of gay women?

Why are certain activities connected with being gay?
Do they? Evidence? Really it is because straight people are only capable of detecting the gay guys and girls who act in a gender-bending way, so they confuse variation in gender roles with being gay, when in fact there is no relation. Straight people simply have chosen to rely on stereotypes, so they see a correlation where none exists.

In general straight men can only detect one in nine gay men. See Gaydar: visual detection of sexual orientation among gay and straight men. J Homosex. 2002;44(1):1-14

Yes, someone actually did study this and straight people are quite lost when it comes to detecting sexual orientation. Poor things.
Reply:Well, let's call a spade a spade, shall we? Most folks in society base everything on stereotypes. Do you like fried chicken and watermelon? Do you like white women? Do you listen to hip hop, wear a "grill" and other bling, and do you call women bitches and hos? Do you like basketball, football, and other sports? I think you really need to get out more and make some informed decisions instead of rattling off stereotypes. You have no idea what it is to be PC, AC, DC, IC or any other C. Get your head out of the clouds, son, and come back down to Earth with the rest of us. I bet you got beaten by a girl in MANY areas of your life, eh?
Reply:It is just perception. There are straight people in all those professions you mention, too.

It's stereotype.
Reply:Stereotyping is a form of marginalizing a group, and maybe you should look at why in 2006 your still wanting to do this babe.

There is a study that says 80% of the people who attack gays and lesbians have had homosexual feelings themselves.

A component considered to play into homophobia, as considered by some theorists, such as Calvin Thomas and Judith Butler, is an individuals fear of being identified as homosexual him or herself.

This notion suggests that when expressing homophobic viewpoints and emotions, the individual who does so is not only expressing his thoughts as to homosexuals, but also actively attempting to distance himself from this category and attributed social status. Therefore, by distancing him or herself from the people in question, he/she is reaffirming his/her role as a heterosexual, within heteronormativity, and contributing to the avoidance of his/her potential labeling and consequent treatment as a homosexual.

This interpretation plays into notions of violent opposition to "the Other" as a means of establishing one's identity as part of the majority and therefore, validated by society. This concept is also recurrent in interpretations of racism and xenophobia.

How would we ever know how many gays do what and in what field ...apart from who they love and who they go to bed with there just like heterosexuals, most you could not pick unless they told ya babe.
Reply:Maybe because these people prefer light weight and job that exercise creativity.
Reply:There may not be as many of us in those roles as you think, but I agree there are a lot of gay men in the professions and with the hobbies you suggest. Perhaps, this is due to some degree to the fact that as a sexual minority, already discriminated against and made fun of, gay men see no additional stigma attached to taking a job which might be thought of as being predominately a female role.
Reply:I can't answer for anyone else. I am an electronic tech and work on high dollar computer systems. I was in the US Army infantry for a six year enlistment. I don't have a feminine bone in my body and I'm not attracted to fems. I'm 100% gay so I don't know.
Reply:It has been found that gay men have more of a connection between the right and left hemispheres of their brains which can lead to more artistic ability. I'm not sure how it works in lesbians.
Reply:I think we are drawn to certain things. I have always liked sports, not watching so much, but playing. But when I became gay about 3 years ago, I gave myself permission to enjoy the arts, and music more freely, and discovered how it all validated who I was. It was much like finding out I was adopted and then finding my real family. I was so much like other gay men, creative, expressive, and caring, I may be wrong for saying so, but Ido find similarities in gay men and women. but that makes sense, after all, we are family.
Reply:I believe we are everywhere. But yes we are grouped in these areas too. It has to do with femininity of men and strength of womyn. But I know a few very strong construction workers that are also gay/Men. Just a stereo type!!!!

Although my stylist is a very married str8 man from Italy.

http://godmademegay.com
Reply:I play basketball, golf and softball. I also ride a bike. And I compete in kickboxing tournaments -- you left that one off!

But I am not in any way, shape, or form, a lesbian (I'm not bi either).
Reply:Maybe it's the estrogen/testosterone issue. Gay men and women have been studied and tend to have higher levels of estrogen and testosterone, respectively; and perhaps it is also a desire to identify with the opposite sex (physically) by participating in activities that are deemed gender-specific by society.
Reply:well, that's mostly stereotyping. yes, you may see that in some cases, but not all.

I am lesbian but I am not at all athletic, or work on cars, nor am I a biker or in the military.

Can anyone help me with my english project on designing a character (angel of dreams)?

we have to design a character based on a picture she(the teacher) gave us, I got a painting of an angel standing in a garden, so far I've decided that she is an angel of dreams and the unknown, but I can't seem to get any more thatn that, I cant even get a name. Does anyone have any good names or ideas...please help!

Can anyone help me with my english project on designing a character (angel of dreams)?
If she's standing in a garden it might be easier to make it the 'angel of nature' or something similiar. xDD Doesn't sound as good, but would be so much easier to do. x_X

Like, you could say: As she is standing in a garden, I have decided to make her an angel of nature. She has powers over plants and can make them grow and move. Her name is Ivy. She is a hippie. She has green hair. Blah blach etc etc.

But, uh, if you're stuck on the angel of dreams idea.. Ummm. You could basically say something along the lines of: 'She is a beautiful angel that sometimes appears in peoples dreams. She is good-natured and kind, and is able to weave dreams and then cast them upon sleeping humans. They are usually dreams of wild gardens or rural areas. etc etc.'

I'm not too good with making up characters. xD Good luck. :P

Triangle shaped gardens?

we have a garden that is a right angled triangle in shape...due to us being on a corner plot. I would like to do a complete garden makeover but am having difficulty in finding a design that is this shape. Can anyone give me some help please?

Triangle shaped gardens?
i have the exact same problem. what i did myself is put a garage up with a carport on the front of it which now has ivy growing all over it and looks superb. the rest of the garden was slabbed off completely with 1 metre of raised beds made from sand stone left all the way around the edges of my garden which now have ever green plants in so that it looks good all year round. at the back of my garden behind the garage i decked the whole space which is the worst of the triangle the size is about 7x7x8 metres and this is raised by 10 inch's from the slabs. hope this gives yo some idea with the dreaded corner plots.
Reply:I myself have a triangular garden and what i did was to put a bamboo at the furthest point so as to remove the pointy aspect of the garden ,the bamboo grows rapidly and looks lovely. At the front of the bamboo i put a water feature and planted lillies and other shrubs, the area covered in bark and enclosed by log roll edging.Down one length of the triangle i gravelled and slabbed for a seating area and built a stone bbq, and the other side i planted again with trellis plants to the walls. In the centre i had a lawned area and towards the house i decked.
Reply:the best way of dealing with a triangle shaped garden is,curve all the areas to take the straight angles away.its the only real way of fixing the problem
Reply:Put a nice seating area in one of the corners - you could lay gravel or decking. This would make the rest of your garden a more rectangular shape which would be easier to work with. A triangular garden would be interesting - it would certainly stand out from your neighbours.
Reply:we have a triangle shaped garden in the bottom corner (pointed bit) we have a pond which we fenced off due to grandkids visiting then a lawn and flower beds.
Reply:The corners are a complete loss, so you should plant some tree in them, to put height to the garden, and then try to reduce the impact of the space, by creating a circle or ellipse in the middle. If you obscure the edges of the circle from the house, with shrubs, or a feature wall, then the garden will seem wider, and for fun you could put a plastic mirror behind a wooden arch along the hypotenuse of the triangle to create the illusion of another space beyond. You will need to cover the arch in some flowering climber, honey suckle and Clematis are good together, or a rambling rose.

If you have kids, make the shape in the centre from soft bark chippings, and have a play area. If you don,t put in a pond with stepping stones across it, to reflect the garden new height, the trees in the far corner.

If you party, lay the shape out as an informal gravel and stone patio, and build a barbeque to the edge oposite the diagional to draw away the eye from the narrowing garden fence.

If you like to sun bath then just lay a lawn down, with nice big banks of flowers to disguise the shape beyond.

I myself, built two chinese round arches, (you have to build in pairs = ying %26amp; Yang) when I had a cheese wedge shaped garden at the last house. One 6 foot high wall divided the patio from the rest of the garden, the other went allong the long wall, and had a huge plastic mirror behind. The garden was full of shrubs, japanes maples, and had a sunken garden with a small ornamental pond fed from a long trench or water which ran allong the edge of the patio. entry was over one stepping stone, and the water then flowed down the sides of the steps into the sunken garden. It was in purple slate and creamy grey rendered walls, with black roman tiles, varnished to look like the chinese ones, and I had a three foot Terracotta warrior in the awkward corner, underneath a Davidi tree (which only started to flower after ten years when we were selling the place) and a skyrocket cherry tree in the point.

starting from scratch again now, laid the patio and hard landscape, but have to finish kitchen off over the winter.
Reply:i guess that's like a taco shaped hairy snake trap ?, hmmmm !

Help me please 10 pts!!!?

which plant is taller an eggplant plant or a bellpepper plant thank you i am designing garden on the computer and i need to know thank you so much!!! 10 pts to first answer please no opinions thanks !!!

Help me please 10 pts!!!?
A bell pepper is taller. An eggplant will vine out, while the bell pepper will be a bushy type plant.
Reply:bell pepper plant could reach 4' tall by 3' wide or larger, so space your container to give your plant(s) plenty of room

4"-6" Tall, eggplant. Some eggplant cultivars can reach a height of 4.5 feet. Eggplants have a deep taproot, which helps them tolerate dry weather. Flowers are open for two to three days and are self-pollinated. However, bees may improve both pollination and yield of eggplant. Fruits vary in size and shape, from round to bell-shaped, oval or elongated. Oriental or Japanese eggplant cultivars have elongated fruit. The fruit surface of eggplant is smooth and glossy. Fruit color can be yellow, green, white, purple, black, violet or various combinations of these colors
Reply:Eggplant

It grows 40 to 150 cm (16 to 57 in) tall, with large coarsely lobed leaves that are 10 to 20 cm (4-8 in) long and 5 to 10 cm (2-4 in) broad. (Semi-)wild types can grow much larger, to 225 cm (7 ft) with large leaves over 30 cm (12 in) long and 15 cm (6 in) broad

I haven't found these dimensions with green bell peppper %26amp; I grow them.
Reply:you cant know which plant will be bigger unless you know which one of the plants you are going to buy,in both plants there are a lot of different types,it is which one you choose to put where, nowadays there are dwarf types in both of these plants, which means that they grow from 1 ft to 1 11/2 ft,the regular plants in both of theese plants grow up to almost 4 ft in height and has a couple branches well ...so in your design you could use dwarf and regular plants, just make up your mind which you going to put where...
Reply:The bell pepper plant grows taller. An eggplant usually sticks closer to the ground because eggplants are heavier.
Reply:i eat eggplant, even tho i'm forced, and i say eggpklant is taller
Reply:That depends on the type of eggplant plant-they can grow from 20"high to about 4'.
Reply:eggplant
Reply:An Egg plant is a vine that climbs things.

Bell peppers grow kinda like tomatos..a medium sized bush
Reply:It all depends on the age and brand/type of plant
Reply:eggplant plants grow from 1-3 feet tall, which is taller than a bell pepper plant.
Reply:eggplant is taller in length. bell pepper in width

Have a choice to have your own home designed and build, what style would you choose?

Whould you like a classic straight lined home painted white with glass and silver;

Mexican style with a large fireplace and lots of oragne colours;

Double story house (mansion) with an indoor swimming pool and garden;

Garden Cottage with a nice vegatable garden and a fish pond?

Come on let us dream for dream can become true.

Enjoy the week-end

%26lt;smile%26gt; take care, Suzanne

Have a choice to have your own home designed and build, what style would you choose?
I once drafted the "home of the future" for a science fair. Unfortunately, I was too young, it was not my field of interest at the time, and I got a B. However, I long to revisit the idea, and one day, build (have built?) and live in that house.

Since all the things mentioned, and so many more, appeal to me in some way, I'm inclined to think I would like a large property with an eclectic landscape. The home should probably then take place around that. The colors, materials for the climate, etc. - all would be a function of location.

The building itself would take a lot of thought. I would like the amenities of the "futuristic" home, but really long to live in a stone castle. So, I combine the two concepts, throw in a splash of Japanese gardening, a Greek pillar or two - and viola.
Reply:On one hand, I just LOVE the Mexican theme, but on the other, a little Garden Cottage is just sooooo cute! Yeah, we can dream!
Reply:The design of a home should be based on your current and future needs in a home. Think several years ahead(family size, family gatherings, pets, etc.) Think also of the things that you want to do daily. If you're the kind of person that likes to change things, pick a design that allows you to do that easily.

Remember that you have to look it it every day.
Reply:I have to say Mexican style it just seems nicer and roomie with the coart yard and all.
Reply:I would go with something post-industrial. In anticapation of peak oil and rolling blackouts, I would make it functional off grid. Include a private source of water and on site gardens.

Could we afford to buy land for £16,000 and build a posh property on it?

We're a small family, all with average wages. I myself am a full time student who also works part time at a call centre, my mum is a supermarket supervisor and her fiancé runs his own landscape gardening business. My grandfather is also a builder. We have been offered a several acre piece of land by a farmer in a fantastic area where large, expensive houses tend to be built, for £16,000. It seems an absolute bargain.

This is a new venture for us, and we're unsure of whether to go for it, how much it would cost us, if we could afford it, and what we would need to do.

Can anyone advise us if we could afford to create this project, based on our typical family wages. We could design, and possibly build a house without too much bother based on experience. But is this project worthy? What would be the process?

Hope you can help us! Thanks!

Could we afford to buy land for £16,000 and build a posh property on it?
not possible to give you sound advice without more facts sorry

regards x kitti x
Reply:You have to make sure that the farmer is not trying to dupe you.

Does the land come with planning permission? has planning permission already been declined?

Is the ground contaminated or need work?

For a small plot of land with planning permission in town would be at least £80,0000

Have a land survey carried out
Reply:I'd have to agree with Paul S. It doesn't mean because there is developments locally this particlar land has planning permission on it.

It could be classed as agricultural land. That comes a lot cheaper but as far as I know you will not get planning permission to build a house on it.
Reply:I don't know, but I love the way ya'll talk!! Really, real estate investing is risky and you really need to know what you are doing to avoid catastrophic losses. The fact that you are asking this question tells me that you probably need to investigate and get educated much more than you have. "Bargains" are tempting, but not worth the risk of losing your shirt because of ignorance. I don't know about the UK, but generally speaking in the US, the larger the house, the slower the market. While you might make more money per sale, it takes a lot longer to sell due to a much smaller pool of potential buyers. If you're truly interested in real estate investments, I'd start small and test the water and your talent. One more thing, absolute bargains rarely are. Do you know why the price is low? Have you checked out building and zoning codes, easments, contamination, etc.? There's nothing like buying a property and finding out later it can't be built on. I don't mean to sound discouraging, but I do want you to have the best chance of success in whatever you decide. good luck, peace
Reply:Are in you in UK? Then you need to ask why he's selling several acres for only £16,000, this seems ludicriously cheap. I know where we live in N Ireland 1/4 acre with full planning permission was sold recently for £225k. You need to find out if there is planning permission or is it zoned for building. Try and get an architect to give advice and maybe also a solicitor. If this land is farming land with no chance of ever getting permission to build then that would be about the right price.
Reply:In England?

Are you sure??

Check it out. Get a lawyer to check it. That is TOO cheap.
Reply:If in Uk the first thing to check is if you could get planning permission to build on it...if not...such as on green belt land or other restrictions, then all you are buying is a field...surely as a builder your Grandfather should know this....have a word with the local planning dept. first before you agree to anything.

Any one has a ready designed lessons for annuals and gardening?
Here's several different lesson plans: They can be adjusted for higher grade levels. You can take a tour of a greenhouse (instead of the Botanical gardens) to see different stages of growth of seedlings %26amp; discuss conditions needed for growth. http://www.huntington.org/Education/less...

Reply:Hi:

I am a landscaper and designer. I do hand drawn designs as many of my clients like to see some shape and colors. I am not an artist but my goal is to be simple and allow my clients to try and visualize my suggestions. I also provide a design key for them. I will link you to the examples of landscape designs in my website. I have done 2D and 3D designs, but many of the clients like a more simple version.

I will also link you to the site map, as this page has everything that is on the website. Browse through and see if you can find any other information that may help you. I will also link you to the learning center section, as this is an educational section on plants, landscape and different possible lesson plans. I hope some of this has helped and good luck to you! Have a great day!

My boyfriends mum......?

She is a lovely woman and has never treated me with anything but respect and kindness BUT (why is there always a but) she treats her family like dirt. She never goes out, she claims she has no friends but she has had friends in the past and pushed them away. She refuses to let her husband go out-even to family events. She restricts her 3 sons social lives (I'm with the eldest who is 18, the other two are 15 and 13). She doesnt work but is doing a garden design course and her husbands pay is not wonderful and they are struggling. Yet she will spend all the money on herself, plants, a new kitchen, new clothes. This is when sometimes they haven't enough money to buy food-and I'm serious on that.

My question is-what should i do? i love my boyfriend and i hate seeing him so hurt by her. And i love his family too and i hate myself for getting angry at his mum. some advice please.

My boyfriends mum......?
Well all you can do is be supportive to his feelings, and wishes. If you can take him out, do diferent things with him so he can get away from the house that would, and will b great. In the case of mom, you can voice your opinion, but all it will do is put your bf in the middle choosing you, or his moms and you don't want that sweetie. Just be supportive of him, and his wishes. It will pay off at the end.
Reply:Just be there to support your b/f. There is not much you can do other than perhaps encourage him to speak to his mother. It would seem very rude of to them I'm sure, if you spoke up about personal family matters even though it is affecting your life. It is a difficult situation, but you can really only confront her on the actions she did which would directly effect you. You can't speak up for anyone else if they refuse to do so.
Reply:she has to want things to change herself. seems like she runs the show around there. her husband needs to step up as the other adult in the family and maybe the 18 year old could say something to help out. but without any of this happening, things will continue to be the same way.....always.
Reply:There is nothing that you really can do. Unfortunately, it's not your place to say anything to her or try and change her.

The Person Who Designed The Wheelie Bin Is An ****?

Why make a bin which is about half the size on the bottom as it is at the top ? the damn thing just wants to fall over anyway. So with the gales around the things are rolling around all over the place and my garden is full of all the crap thats come out of them.

Doesn't yours have a locking catch thing on the lid? Mine does. It stops things falling out when it falls over, and stops the local cats and foxes trying to get in.

Generating energy from a river?

I have river in my farm garden.. It is sometimes fast and sometimes slow. I need electricity (for home lamps etc.) How can i find the design and project of electric generation from this river? I need explanation step by step. Bec i am doctor. I am planning to design it by myself. Thank you if you know.

Generating energy from a river?
There are water turbines that can be sunk directly into a river. See links.

1) Map the flow rate. For this, you´ll need a cross section of the channel, and measure the velocity of the flow.

You can determine the velocity by allowing something to float down river and measure the time it takes to cover two points of known distance. This would be your max speed, so, divide by two to obtain an average. Multiply the average velocity by the cross section to obtain the flow.

2) Try to map the cross section along different points.

3) Try to map the flow rate per day and month.

Next, contact a supplier and give him the data and see what they can offer. They will tell you how to install it.

Addendum

Quite frankly, I agree with the answers 1 %26amp; 3.

.
Reply:I think you will find that it is not legal for you to generate electricity from a stream.

There is something about the rights to do such a thing being owned by somebody else, it used to be the water authorities, but since privatisation I do not know who these rights have been passed to.

Similar, I suppose to "mineral rights", where, if you found coal underground on your land, you do not have the rights to mine it.

What are the prettiest flowers?

My mom is trying to become a interior designer and as a project she is going to design my room to look like i am in the middle of a garden and she wants me to look for flowers but i need your help. as my room will be painted like a garden at sunset, i would like the flowers tie in with a sunset. like morning glories calla roses, or even something that has nothing to do with it but are just unique and pretty like bleeding hearts (this is a real flower) they don't have to tie in with a sunset though. thank you so much for the help!!!

What are the prettiest flowers?
Oriental poppies and California poppies are both lovely, and would tie in with a sunset theme.
Reply:Truthfully I like Japanese Iris and it comes in alot of colors. As well as, Clematis and Dahlias. Also, a simple yet really pretty flower is Lavender. I am not sure at the moment what else, but I hope I helped.
Reply:Lilies and orchid's are pretty.
Reply:I like daises, roses and orchids with lots of exotic colors.
Reply:Birds of Paradise they are gourges and exotic
Reply:FOR YOU MY PRETTY ,WHITE ROSES with tiny orange carnations.
Reply:orchids. they show class and taste.
Reply:Well, first of all, think of what style the furniture is - traditional American, English cottage, French Provincial, Tuscan, Danish Modern, Retro,???

Then, you can start looking on Google or Yahoo for images from the appropriate garden...English country garden, French formal garden, American wildflowers, etc.
Reply:I have a vine, passion fruit I believe. The blooms are so beautiful and unique, they actually look fake. The spring bulbs are nice like daffodils, hyacinths and tulips. Too many to mention, your room is going to be pretty!
Reply:Gerbera daisies! They come in all colors and sizes and are charming, pretty, and fun! http://www.save-on-crafts.com/gerberdais...

You could also add sunflowers, which would go well with sunset colors.

I just redid my daughter's room with a beach type theme...yellows, orange, sandy. I put a fake green tree with tiny clear lights on it in the corner. It's warm and cozy in the evening. :)

What is involved in "staging" my home for the Real Estate Market?

Staging a home for the market will most certainly guarantee you a quicker sell. A home that is "staged" stands out amongst all others. Stat's prove across the country that a properly staged home will sell at the asking price and sometimes above. If you have your home appraised after all repairs, updates and staging is completed you may well get a higher appraisal value on the home.

If you are looking to "stage" your home on your own we suggest that you get professional advise from a professional home stager so that you are certain that your home is show ready. We at Home Stages Designs offer many Home Staging ebooks to assist the do-it-yourselfers out there. When following the lead of a professional you can rest assured that your home is going to sell quicker than all others that are not show ready. Now days, potential buyers expect to purchase homes that are ready to move into and that they do not have to plunk alot of money into at the onset of the purchase. These are the buyers that will give you your asking price without hesitation.

Make the perfect first impression and sell your home now! See us for more details and related ebooks to get you started on your way to fast home sell. See us at http://www.homestages.com/ or on ebay at Nonfiction Books/Home%26amp;Garden/Home Decor/Home Staging

What is involved in "staging" my home for the Real Estate Market?
clear it out as much as possible.. leaves more to the buyers imagination. Fix major blunders, paint dark small room a lighter color. Bake cookies or bread on show day so the smell fills the home.... just to name a few.
Reply:Are you in Canada or the US?
Reply:1) Remove all dead bodies from the basement. Dump them in a wooded area at least 3 miles from home.

2) HIDE YOUR PORN!!!! Prospective buyers DO NOT want to see your copies of Big Butts on Parade or Shemales in Stockings.

3) Oh wait I just realized that this very question is Spam. Darn.

What is a good PRIMER BOOK on GARDENING?

.....Something that covers

the different types of plants,

how to plant them, and

most favorable conditions for each

.....pretty much the basics.

Also, and additional book suggestion on estate landscape design would be truly appreciated.

What is a good PRIMER BOOK on GARDENING?
I have the Better Homes guide, and it's good. Also try the American Horticultural Society. They have a coffee table book that I got as a gift a few years ago that is also quite good.
Reply:I live in Texas and we have quite a few local plant people who specialize in plants that are best suited to our area. There are so many variables in climate and soil conditions, that a national publication is not always best. I think you get better advise when you consult a regional expert.
Reply:My favorite is the Reader's Digest New Illustrated Guide to Gardening in Canada. It's a fairly large book with easy to understand directions on just about anything you're looking for, from perennials to vegetables, trees to bulbs. At the end of each section, the book gives you a list of recommended plants to grow along with care and maintenance, varieties, size. There's a section on plant disorders and diseases and how to treat them. There's even a section on types of weeds and their control. It's really and excellent book. You didn't mention where you were from. I'll assume there's a US version of this book as well.

Sorry, I can't help you with the other book you're looking for. My only suggestion for that is to try http://www.amazon.com and use their excellent search feature.
Reply:P. Allen Smith's website is wonderful for new and old gardeners. I think he has a book or two to sell as well. Check him out at www.pallensmith.com !
Reply:I 've had a book for years...Better Homes and Gardens Complete Guide to Gardening. Look for gardens in your area and ask the homeowner. Most gardeners are extremely proud of their work and would probably be very willing to give you tips. This may be more useful than a book.

How do i lay this type of patio?
There are a couple of ways. You can sweep good soil in and plant it, or just place your stones and then cut sod to fit around them.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/m...

When I was starting out, I dug individual spots for the pavers and poured sand in under them, but the ground swallowed them up within 2 years. So preparation is the key.

Anyone have Better Homes and Gardens - January 2007?

We are remodeling our kitchen, and we liked a kitchen we saw in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. My wife tore out the page, page Z4 from January 2007 issue. I got this issue out of the library, but no page Z4 (z as in zebra) (Better by Design - Comfort comes to the kitchen article). It must have been some supplement. Does anyone have this issue with this page? We are desperate for the kitchen specs from this article, which they often print at the end of the magazine. Please let me know if you have it, or have an idea what magazine it is really in...thanks!

Anyone have Better Homes and Gardens - January 2007?
Go to their home page and click on customer service in the upper right hand corner. Perhaps they will e-mail or fax that page. Or perhaps they have back issues for sale.
Reply:my kitchen was featured in 1998- the summer edition of BH%26amp;G- They don't keep back copies- I am still looking for mine. Good luck- try the library.

How many people believe in aliens as our devine creators/designers?

Ancient Jewish religous history said that Adam and Eve were created in the Garden of Eden. Darwin upset people by saying that we evolved from primates. There is a new school of thought that our DNA was designed by advanced beings/ Aliens and that they are our creators or designers.

Do you think that this is a scientific possibility?

How many people believe in aliens as our devine creators/designers?
Aliens divine??? hell no but I do believe they created us for their own agenda.

No PROOF that we came from primates, it is only a theory and it has many missing links.

Evolutionist are so desperate that now the Neanderthals and homo-erectus and homo-sapiens (not homo-sapiens sapines) co-existed and inter-breded as "proof" has been found in Europe. I'm sure that given a couple thousand years more, they might be able to find those missing links.

" fossils and DNA records show no break from natural evolution"

Where and when?...show me proof of that.

The biggest problem with evolution is that it CANNOT account for the many different life forms in this planet (unless millions of life form organisms evolved at the same time, not from each other but separately ) and that it CANNOT find the missing link or definite connection between Humans and Monkeys. Just because a dog has four legs, it doesn't make it a horse!
Reply:Possible- yes. Probable- no.
Reply:Absoutley not! God created us, and we have proof of that. The Bible. We have no proof at all that "aliens" created us. God is the creator of all things, no doubt.
Reply:Technically this is possible. But that will never become a good scientific theory. A good scientific theory should be able to make prediction that can be tested with observation.

Theory of evolution is a good theory in that it predict that the advanced life existing today should come from simpler lifeform, and observation on the measured age of various fossil records had confirmed this prediction.

Sure it is possible that some aliens created us in the past, but even if that is true, the aliens would themselves have to have some origin. Since the age of the universe is finite however, this aliens creating aliens chain should be broken somewhere with the oldest alien originating from evolution.

Otherwise it would looks like it is turtle all the way down theory.
Reply:It's POSSIBLE, yes. And, unlike the god stories, it's actually a SCIENTIFIC idea - i.e. it's actually possible to empirically test the hypothesis that humans were created by aliens.

The problem is that there's no evidence for it, and as far as scientific ideas go, that's a really bad sign.
Reply:No its Science Fiction and does not belong here, and I never heard of Adam or Eve. There is no such theory, its rubbish with no cogent explained proof of that crackpot idea.
Reply:aliens designing us? no. a god designing us? no. humans magically appearing like adam and eve? no. humans evolving from primates? yes. look at the evidence.

aliens - none

intelligent design - a book of stories AKA the bible.

adam and eve - that doesn't even make sence. if all humans derived from adam and eve there would be genetic signs, and a bunch of genetic defects.

evolution - too much evidence for me to write. there are genetic signs, social signs, tons of evidence. that could be a whole other question within its self.

EDIT: did someone actually say the bible is proof of intelligent desing?! the bible is the worst reference in the world. it is a book of collective fictional stories created to help people explain the unexplainable of their time. we can now explain everything with science. the bible is nothing compared to science.
Reply:No. But given more information, I would consider the idea.
Reply:Possibility - okay, maybe. Likely - no. And even if it were true, there is no way we would be able to find out for sure.

This is the plot of several science fiction novels and at least one movie.
Reply:Darwin was just the first who demonstrated the principle of natural selection and our inheritance from primates. People always act like it stopped there and became some kind of religion. No, we have been assiduously studying life for 150 years since Darwin and the evidence is overwhelming that we are descended from primates. The fossil and DNA record show no break from natural evolution, as would be expected if we were created.

This "school of thought" you talk about is just somebody's wild idea and has no supporting evidence whatsoever. In fact, virtually all the evidence contradicts it. I would be surprised if there were three scientists in the world giving it serious consideration.
Reply:And who created the "advanced beings/Aliens"? or From what kind of life did they evolve?

Nice try but no cigar. Only speculations.
Reply:How many?? that's your question. Oh, about 1 million people believe that. (just my rough guess)

John Lear (of the Learjet family) was interviewed on Art Bell and presented a similar hypothesis about aliens injecting souls into our bodies. I have no idea where he got his evidence for this "hypothesis" but it was fun to listen to!

Can anyone please help me identify these flowers?

I live in Oakland, CA, and these "mystery flowers" appeared in my deck garden. I'm including links to pics for easier identification. The first flower started out with white petals, but now they're turning a fuschia color. The second flower now has a white star-shaped five petal design with a yellow center. Does anyone know what these are?

By the way, I've signed up for his newsletter and have found lots of garden tips. He has great ideas and thoughts too.

Reply:the picture is too distant to be sure. The purple leafed plant could be anything from a bishop form dahlia to a cimifuga. the green rounded leafed plant almost looks like a ground covering azalea or the common portulaca weed plant. like I said it's difficult to tell from the pictures. sorry

FLOWER EXPERT? I'm designing a tattoo of oriental poppies. Are there flowers that "go" with them in gardening?

I'm looking for 1-2 more flower varieties to create a "bouquet" effect in the drawing. Whether you think of folklore, climate, location...just looking for flowers that compliment poppies. Thank you!

FLOWER EXPERT? I'm designing a tattoo of oriental poppies. Are there flowers that "go" with them in gardening?
I have always liked poppies and lilies together. Poppy being the soft "flowy" flower and the lily being the contrast with spiked foliage and pointed petals.. I really like poppies and orchids together. The colors are so varied in both, I'm sure there is a combination right for you. I would love to see the finished product when you get it done:)

Reply:Plumeria. They are only found blooming in tropical regions. I should know, I've been trying to grow a plumeria outside of Hawai'i for years. Never a bloom. Go to Hawai'i or Japan or Southern California, and you will see the ground littered with them!

Not only that but the colors/sizes vary greatly as to their scents. Anything from Almond to Peach scents. From White with yellow centers, to violet/magenta and yellow striped (often called Hawai'ian Flag) http://www.plumeria.org has some fine pictures.

I also find tropical hibiscus to be a favorite tattoo, probably because they come in many color varieties, and sizes and even variations on petal formation (some are very ruffled, while others are wide and flat, some double or triple layer bloom.) Their glossy deep green leaves are a perfect backdrop to the vibrant color of the flower.

However, when I think of oriental poppies, I think of those little white round leaves of the 'money tree'. Named for their leaves, look like silver dollars hanging. I don't think it is a tree, but rather a shrub...not sure, I also see these in oriental art, though not exclusive to tropical climates.
Reply:nigella in white or blue,(the leaves are ferny)... pincushion flower in blue....and both are different enuff to keep the poppy in center stage...

Is there someone who can authenticate this antique from photo?

I found this frame on eBay. The auction states it's a Victorian. Is there an appraiser/professional who can tell from the pics? It doesn't have to be an actual Victorian, I'd just like to know if the design passes muster or is way off-track. Thanks in advance!

It looks to be more of the Art Nouveau style which overlaps the Victorian Era but would not be considered Victorian in style. By the way, it is the Art Nouveau style that is used in the graphics that frame the photos of the bedstead on eBay. (If it has brass finials and details they must have been painted over.)

God's Design was perfect?

When Adam and Eve where formed they were both naked and unashamed.

2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

But when they ate from the tree of knowledge they were both ashamed and tried to hide their nakedness.

3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

Okay, if man was designed by a perfect god, why would nakedness be something that once educated they would be ashamed of? And if God did not veiw their nakedness as a sin or anything to be ashamed of then why was that knowledge in the fruit in the first place?

I am just a curious atheist....

(btw I am very proud of me for not touching on how people used to be able to hide from god. Yah for me!)

God's Design was perfect?
Mysterious ways... duh.

Didn't you know? Why does god want to do anything if he was perfect?

God's head full of confusion causes him to act in mysterious ways.
Reply:I'm naked right now, and I am not ashamed.
Reply:Perfect is not absolute.

If the design was perfect, then nothing would die. Okay, man sinned and the penalty was death...did the trees sin? Did the lions and tigers and bears sin? How can an entity, allegedly without a soul, therefore incapable of sin, die -- IF the wages of sin is death?

OOPS.
Reply:Nothing in religion makes sense ™
Reply:God does not exist. The universe is RANDOM
Reply:nope , 99% of his production is having some factory defects , look at those religious people and politicians.
Reply:The people that wrote it didn't think it through but were merely reflecting the prejudices of their day.
Reply:The story never made sense to me, even in bible studies. None of the adults could explain it either. Who were they hiding from? There were only two people and they'd already seen each other naked!
Reply:they are ashamed because Allah swt was mad as they ate from the tree. they were nude at the time so i guess they didn't ever want to do sum thing that reminded then of their sin!

Best design shows show on HGTV?

I just upgraded my cable - I like the design shows they have on... not the 'how to purchase/sell/flip/appraise' shows. I like the home improvement/gardening/ect. stuff. Anyway, I watch about 1 hour of TV MAXIMUM in a day. I'd like to start timer recording something. Suggestions?

Best design shows show on HGTV?
Divine Design
Reply:i like mission organization

i love wathcing house hunters international its fun to see different countries plus see how the new people make it better

also if you watch tlc i like moving up its when 3 people sell their houses ans the other people buy them they new people redecorate and then the old people come back an say if they like it or not
Reply:Hidden Potential really is a good show. It shows the possibilities of a house that people are looking to buy, like remodel possibilities. Buying something well below their budget and using the leftover money to remodel the house into something quite different.
Reply:Personally, my fave is Designed To Sell on HGTV. Especially the episodes that have designer Lisa LaPorta featured in them. The show's premise is that folks need to sell their house but no one seems interested. A realtor lady comes and inspects the house and says what fix-ups or upgrades will help sell it faster. Then the designer comes and with a budget of $2000 makes changes in the home that are usually amazing. Lisa is the BEST designer of the 3 I've seen the show use. She's in most of the episodes thankfully!

What program do you use to create vectors?

I normally do photography and work in digital art. I thought about trying to do vectors. I currently use Paint Shop Pro X.

Vectors that are similar to these, if you scroll down you can see similar work:

What programs are designed to create vectors similar to the above?

What program do you use to create vectors?
That is, the link you provide, good vector art. Vector is graphics described in math numerics instead of dot-for-dot. Vector art is much smaller file size and capable of sharp visuals at any print size or resolution.

For the money, for the ease of production, and for better art -- Xara. The software has real time transparencies and gradiants.

I have used both Illustrator and Xara. You should click links, spend a moment or two looking at amazing art that looks photographic, but it is line art.

For a free Vector Art program that is very capable, Inkscape.
Reply:Adobe Illustrator is a very good vector editing program. Current versions of Photoshop can do limited vector drawing, which might be useful if you want to layer vectors on top of your photographs.

Does the outside of a restaurant mean alot to you?

The building design..and nature or gardens surrounding it mean anything to ya or no biggy?..thanks!

Does the outside of a restaurant mean alot to you?
Well, I think that the apperence on the outside is really improtant. If it looks shabby on the outside, how do you think they keep the kitchen? Also, if the outside and inside are both bad looking, then I'd feel unsafe and uncomfortable in there. The building design doesn't bother me, as long as it is neat. Gardens are really inviting, and would really make my attention go to that place. As long as they are good looking inside as well, it's a good place to eat in my book.
Reply:Yes.

If you meet a guy who smells, dresses poorly, and doesn't care about his outward appearance (assuming he has the money to care for himself), then you wouldn't date him!

Same goes for restaurants in my opinion.

I will say though, that I live in Virginia Beach - an area that has many beautiful restaurants. I have been to New York City which has some restaurants with great food, but disappointing outward appearances. So, clearly, my opinion only works for some areas.
Reply:very much so,
Reply:In western countries yes, but as I have been living in China for a while now..I can honestly say..no it doesn't matter. If I'm looking for great food at a good price, I eat where the locals eat, and you can guarantee the best places are always packed out, and most definately not ritzy, or even clean! I have had one minor case of food poisoning in 2 years, and it was from a very clean, gorgeous looking restaurant. Appearances can be deceiving.

Where did Emma Watson get her Converse X-hi tops (garden pattern)?

Do you have any idea where she could have got them or where they can be on other websites? I've already tried the make-your-own converse on converse.com and they didn't have that specific design...it's like a creamy color with pink%26amp;orange flowers on them and green leaves...yeah, I need them! haha.

How do I transfer my venus fly trap from a one of those dinky terrarium cups they come in into a terrarium?

I get my venus fly traps at Bachman's and it comes in one of those little cups and I got a little green house or terrarium thing that came with the peat moss and stuff and I just want to to know how I should stransfer it from the cup into the nice specially designed terrarium with the peat moss that came with it? Is there a specific way I should do that? Or is it like replanting flowers in your garden? Do you take the plant out like you take a flower out of the box with the dirt surrounding it and fill the hole you made in the ground and pack the dirt around it like you do with flowers? How do I do it?

How do I transfer my venus fly trap from a one of those dinky terrarium cups they come in into a terrarium?
The Venus Fly Trap is a bit fragile, so I'd be careful when moving it. To be on the safe side, acclimate the Venus Fly Trap to the terrarium. Let it sit in the terrarium, in its present container, for about five days so it gets used to the temperature and mositure difference. If you start to notice any unhealthy change in the Venus Fly Trap, take it out and let it sit for a day. Then start to acclimate it to the terrarium a few hours at a time. Once the Venus Fly Trap is able to stay in the terrarium for 24 hours or longer with no signs of distress, it's time to transplant.

To transplant, first dig a hole in the terrarium a bit bigger than you need. Then, using scissors or pruning shears, cut the plastic base of the Venus Fly Trap's current pot, being careful to go straight down to minimize root damage. Peel the case off.

Place the Venus Fly Trap inside the hole, then place soil around it. Monitor the plant over the next few days to make sure it is still doing okay in the terrarium.
Reply:It's nothing special. A venus fly trap is a plant. It should still be treated as one. Follow the normal care instructions in the terrarium, but be sure to compensate for larger soil amounts. You may need to water more because it will spread out among the moss.

colonial shoe buckles

Inteligent Design...ists... if complexity proves a creator, are all complex designs made by inteligence?

The most notable example that comes to mind is the termite colony, individual termites are hardly inteligent, and construct their colonies based upon relatively simple rules... And yet, these colonies tend to be endlessly complex, with any number of shafts, cellars, vents, chimneys, and chambers established to maintain an extremely narrow range of temperatures. (in any given day a termite colony often only differs by 1 or two degrees Celsius). Not to mention fungus gardens that many species of termites maintain.... With all this complexity (including a ventalation system humans would be completely incapable of reproducing not long ago), is there some inteligent power behind the wills of termites, or other fairly simple processes that form complex structures?...

I just never quite got how one could say complexity demands an design by a thinking being, so I'm wondering who actively designs unique complex structures like termite mounds.

Inteligent Design...ists... if complexity proves a creator, are all complex designs made by inteligence?
The christians will say god did it, while the rest of the answerers will either garnish their 2 points with a smarta$$ remark about the christians, or agree with you.

The best answer will be most likely the the one that points the obvious out in that nature didn't last this long by being stupid (kind of like bacteria that continues to consume... even with no brain! This isn't evidence of anything other than reaction to stimuli) or the one that sounds the funniest.

And to the wonderful person below me, that wasn't sarcasm you idiot. Read some of these questions and the answers they get- they're all the same...
Reply:Well, from a religious point of view, all intelligent beings were created by God(s). I mean this whole working Earth is amazing enough. Saying that this all happened under coincidence is just like putting a bunch of computer parts in a box, shaking it, and out comes a working computer. Simply amazing.
Reply:Wonderful point. We used to think that flies came from meat for goodness sake. When meat would sit outside flies would lay eggs on it and it was a common belief that flies were created by meat until some genius but a glass cover over the meat and no flies were discovered.

There's SO MUCH that we still don't understand. What we once found to be complex: the human organs, weather, and birth are now subjects that we have experts on. Who's to say that we haven't just now hit the tip of the iceberg and we're really the least evolved planet and race in the universe?
Reply:When God created the creatures of the earth he gave them the instincts to build, find food and survive. You might also compare it to an autistic savant...some of them know nothing about the world around them but can make the most amazing artwork or music or solve the most complex math problems.
Reply:There is no "who" in this. The termites design the termite mounds. Complexity illustrates natural selection. The ones that build the best-designed mounds survive disasters. These ones reproduce, and of these, the ones that build the best-designed mounds survive disasters even better. Over time, the termites have evolved into termites that build amazingly well-designed mounds, because they don't have any ancestors who couldn't.
Reply:That termites form these systems is neither an argument for or against design. You can say this enigma is due to evolution from dumb chance into insects that form complex systems or you can say that they were intelligently designed to perform that task. This enigma proves neither theory and both sides could spin it to their advantage. This is a very feeble argument for anything.
Reply:Duh! God Does!!!

The above is sarcasm.... What I want to know is, if complexity requires a creator, and man is extremely complex and requires a creator, then isnt our Creator even more complex than us? And, seeing as this is the logical progression, then that means that God requires a Creator as well? So, who created God?

huh? Can you rephrase that ? lol
Reply:WHAT?????????
Reply:Google "landscape contractors tampa florida". Good luck.
